Dr. Gina Sandí Díaz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Fresno, within the College of Arts and Humanities. She teaches courses in Acting, Directing, Dramatic Literature, and Applied Theatre, while also directing productions for the University Theatre.

Her research focuses on Latine and Latin American Theatre, Performance Studies, and Applied Theatre, with an emphasis on civic resistance, cultural memory, and intersectionality. She actively explores connections between theatre practices and social justice in the Central Valley and beyond.
Dr. Sandí Díaz's publications trend toward interdisciplinary analysis, examining intersections of theatre with cultural critique, feminist perspectives, and community engagement. Her forthcoming work Directing Intersectionally (2026) addresses evolving directing methodologies for diverse theatre contexts.
She collaborates with organizations including the Latinx Theatre Commons, American Theatre and Drama Society, and Association of Theatre in Higher Education. Her work extends to community mentorship through the ARTEVISM Fellowship and advisory roles at The Fools Collaborative and UR HERE Theatre.
