Gillian Einstein is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto and a long-standing Visiting Professor at Linköping University (LiU), where she has collaborated extensively with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Her research explores the intersection of sex, gender, and dementia, particularly focusing on why two-thirds of Alzheimer’s disease cases are women, integrating biological and social perspectives.
At LiU, she has led transdisciplinary studies on cognitive changes in women who underwent ovary removal for cancer prevention and emphasized intercultural collaboration in science. Her honorary doctorate lecture at Campus US highlighted her career journey and the role of gender in neurodegenerative diseases.
