Gili Ron is a doctoral researcher and research associate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) and the Department for Computing in Architecture (CA) at the University of Stuttgart. She is affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC and the International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS).
- Education: Master in Architecture from The Architectural Association (EmTech, AA), London; Bachelor in Architecture from Tel-Aviv University.
Her research focuses on human-robot collaboration (HRC) and machine learning in architectural co-design and fabrication, analyzed through feminist technoscience frameworks. She explores how AI and robotics can enhance creativity, agency, and inclusivity in construction while addressing sustainability and demographic challenges.
Recent publications analyze feminist technoscience perspectives in HRC, robotic training for timber assembly, and democratizing computational design tools. Her work integrates social science with architectural computing to develop adaptive fabrication methods and collaborative design practices.
Scientific Awards:
- Auf IT Gebeaut Best Thesis Award (2024)
- Stuttgart University Equitable Spaces Award (2025)
- IntCDC Blue Sky Project Grant (2022)
She has taught seminars and workshops on computational design, human-robot collaboration, and AI in architecture. Ron is actively involved in jury panels at institutions like UCL, Cornell University, and University of Stuttgart, and contributes to projects like IRIS-3D, which reimagines automation in construction through equity and creativity.
