Gian Luca Amadei is a Tutor/Research in Information Experience Design MA at the Royal College of Art (London) and affiliated with the Kent School of Architecture at the University of Kent. His research bridges architecture history, urban planning, sociology, and cultural context, focusing on death studies and designed experiences.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design (University for the Creative Arts)
- Master of Science in Architecture History and Theory (The Bartlett/University College London)
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Architecture (University of Kent), thesis on Victorian cemeteries' impact on London’s urban growth
Research Interests & Projects:
- Leading the Future Cities Field Collective exploring urban futures through designed experiences
- Academic lead for the annual Information Experience Design Festival
- Post-doctoral project Cremation Stories investigating modern cremation rituals and spatial design
- Past collaborations include the Looking Through Objects exhibition on women in Polish design (with Dr Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka and Dario Lombardi)
