Giacomo Maculotti

Giacomo Maculotti is a Fixed-term Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) at Politecnico di Torino. He is actively involved in teaching and research activities related to surface characterization, manufacturing technologies, and metrology.

His research focuses on instrumented indentation tests, nanoindentation, statistical process control, and technological surface characterization. He contributes to advanced manufacturing research through projects like ADAM (Digital-Metrological Twins) and DI-VISION (Traceable machine vision systems).

Recent publications analyze directed energy deposition techniques for tool steel, antibiofilm dental coatings, and photogrammetry scaling. He holds patents in measurement apparatus design and wear trace characterization.
