Ghazwan Hassna is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Program Chair of the Business Analytics and Information Security Program at the College of Business, Hawaii Pacific University. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from City University of Hong Kong, an M.Sc. in Management & Information Systems from the University of Manchester, and a B.Eng. in Information Systems & Software Engineering from Damascus University.

His research focuses on digital transformation, big data and AI strategies, blockchain applications, smart governance, and business analytics. His work bridges strategic information systems with real-world applications in government and enterprise settings.
Dr. Hassna has extensive professional experience in IT-enabled change initiatives across international organizations including the United Nations Development Program, European Commission, and governmental bodies in Syria and the UAE. He was instrumental in formulating Syria’s national e-Government strategy and established the national e-Government Monitoring & Evaluation Unit. His expertise is recognized globally, leading to invitations as a guest speaker and international consultant.

Dr. Hassna advises on digital strategy and governance and has been involved in major policy and implementation projects. He has strong ties to research labs including the Global Center for Internet Finance (GCIF Lab) and Enterprise Process Innovation and Computing (EPIC LAB) at City University of Hong Kong, where he conducted doctoral research.
