Ghanshyam Heda

Dr. Ghanshyam Heda is a Professor of Biology at Mississippi University for Women (MUW), affiliated with the Department of Sciences and Mathematics in the College of Arts & Sciences. He joined MUW in 2008 and specializes in protein biochemistry and cell biology, particularly focusing on cystic fibrosis (CFTR protein stability and function). His research integrates molecular biology, biochemistry, and pharmacology to explore protein misfolding diseases.

Dr. Heda holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. from Osmania University (India). He has conducted extensive research on CFTR chloride channel activity, lipid metabolism in plant systems, and protein assay optimization. His work includes studies on ΔF508 CFTR mutations, western blotting techniques, and curcumin stability analysis.

His teaching spans Human Anatomy & Physiology, Comparative Anatomy, and Protein Misfolding and Human Diseases. He was a Fulbright U.S. Scholar (2018-2019) at the University of Hyderabad, India, focusing on biology research and lecturing.
