Ghaith ABDESSALEM is a postdoctoral fellow in computational biology at the IMAGINE Institute, University of Paris, working in the 'Inflammatory Responses and Transcriptomic Networks in Diseases' Laboratory since May 2018. His research focuses on rare inflammatory disorders using single-cell multi-omics technologies including scRNAseq, scCITEseq, and scATACseq with 10X Genomics platforms.
Education:
- Master's degree in Fundamental and Applied Immunology
- Doctoral research at the Laboratory of Biomedical Genomics and Oncogenetics, Pasteur Institute in Tunis
His expertise bridges genetic, immunological, and computational domains to investigate rare inherited inflammatory diseases. Specializing in Next Generation Sequencing data analysis (exome, genome, microarray), he developed human exome/genome sequencing pipelines accredited through the H3Africa network. Current work examines rare hereditary skin disorders in North African populations and molecular signatures of SARS-CoV-2-related inflammatory syndromes using cutting-edge single-cell multi-omics approaches.
His 2020-2021 publications reveal consistent focus on transcriptional networks in immune cells and bone biology, demonstrating advanced applications of multi-omic integration to dissect disease mechanisms in inflammatory disorders and skeletal development. Research spans from fundamental osteoblast regulation to clinical manifestations of viral-triggered hyperinflammation.
He operates within the 'Inflammatory Responses and Transcriptomic Networks in Diseases' Laboratory, which employs high-throughput single-cell technologies to decode molecular pathways in rare inflammatory conditions through computational biology frameworks.
