Ghada Badawi is a Clinical Associate Professor of Arabic language in the Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (MEIS) at New York University. She holds two M.A. degrees: one in Written Translation (Arabic/English) from Ain Shams University's Faculty of Languages, and another in Applied Linguistics from Columbia University's Teachers College. With 20 years of language teaching experience globally, she has taught at institutions including the American University in Cairo, Tufts University, Harvard University, and Columbia University before joining NYU in 2015.
Her research focuses on Foreign Language Assessment, Testing methodologies, and integrating technology into language education. She has presented at conferences such as ACTFL, TexFlec, and NJTESOL-NJBE, emphasizing the application of grammatical assessment to inform instructional strategies. She teaches Elementary, Intermediate, and Colloquial Arabic courses, specializing in Egyptian dialect instruction.
