German O. Gallucci serves as Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences and holds the Raymond J. and Elva Pomfret Nagle Professorship at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Harvard University.
He earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (Dr. Med. Dent.) from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and completed postdoctoral training in Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion at the same institution. He also holds a PhD from the Free University of Amsterdam.
Dr. Gallucci's research focuses on clinical and translational studies in fixed prosthodontics, oral implantology, and digital dental technology. As principal investigator of HSDM's oral implantology clinical research team within the Division of Regenerative and Implant Sciences, his work bridges laboratory innovations with clinical applications in restorative dentistry.
His professional recognition includes:

Dr. Gallucci serves on editorial boards of the Journal of Dental Research (JDR), Clinical Oral Implants Research (COIR), and International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants (IJOMI). He established HSDM's Postgraduate Education Program in Oral Implantology in 2007 and remains active in national/international dental societies including the Academy of Osseointegration and European Academy of Osseointegration.
His leadership extends to directing the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences while maintaining an active clinical research program focused on biomaterials and digital workflows in implant dentistry.
