Germain Choffart is a Lecturer at the Department of Romance Studies, Trinity College of Arts and Sciences, Duke University, where he has been employed since 2009 (2009–2017 as Lecturing Fellow and 2017–present in current appointments). He coordinates the French Language Program’s FRENCH 101 level and directs DukeEngage France, a program focused on sustainability and cultural immersion. He has also contributed to international curricula development and intercultural education through collaborations with Duke’s Global Education Office and DukeEngage.

His research and teaching emphasize integrating sustainability, disinformation analysis, and intercultural competence into second-language acquisition. Recent grants include the Multilingual Pathways Cross-Program Collaborative Project Grant, Duke Climate and Sustainability Teaching Fellows, and the Québec–United States University Grant Program. His presentations, such as at the Languages of Sustainability Symposium and ACTFL Conference, highlight themes like climate education and fast-fashion sustainability in language classrooms.
