Deborah Reisinger is a Professor of Romance Studies at Duke University, currently serving as Dean of Undergraduate Education in Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. She holds affiliate status in the Duke Global Health Institute and oversees Duke’s Language Outreach Initiatives, including the CLAC program and Shared Course Initiative. Her academic journey includes roles as Associate Professor, Director of French Language Programs, and Interim Dean of Academic Affairs.
Education: PhD in Romance Studies from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (2001).
Research Focus: Reisinger’s work centers on World Languages for Specific Purposes (WLSP), community-engaged scholarship, and intercultural communication. She explores how language education intersects with global health, refugee resettlement, and professional development.
