Gerhard Pöhl

Gerhard Pöhl is a lecturer at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) since September 2015. He specializes in elementary music pedagogy and choral conducting, with a focus on primary education and a cappella music. His professional activities include teaching in schools, music schools, and freelance projects, alongside serving as a consultant for elementary music education across Austria and South Tyrol.

Education:

• 2014–2015: One-year training program 'chor.leiten 2' at Chorszene Niederösterreich with Erwin Ortner and Jordi Casals (completed with 'sehr gutem Erfolg')
• 2010–2014: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Music Pedagogy at MUK (former Conservatory Vienna), with vocal performance as the main instrument (graduated with distinction)
• 2006–2010: Education studies for primary education at the Free University of Bozen (focus on training elementary school teachers)

Research interests emphasize accessible music education methodologies, choral ensemble techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches to early music education. Pöhl is a member of the a cappella ensemble Stimmweben in Vienna, reflecting his commitment to vocal performance and ensemble collaboration.
