Gerd V. M. Haverling

Gerd V. M. Haverling is a Professor of Latin at Uppsala University since 2007. Previously, he held positions as Research Fellow at Göteborg University's Royal Academy of Letters (2005–2007), Associate Professor of Classical Philology at Aarhus University (2001–2007), and researcher/teacher roles at Göteborg University. He has affiliations with the Thesaurus Linguae Latinae project and the Academia Europaea since 2009.

Research Interests:

• Latin linguistics with focus on lexicography and syntax
• Textual criticism and editorial techniques for classical texts
• Roman literature and political structures in Late Antiquity (200–600 AD)

Scientific Contributions:

• Swedish member of the Internationale Kommission for Thesaurus Linguae Latinae
• Visiting research fellow at All Souls College, Oxford (2015)
• Recipient of major research grants from Riksbankens jubileumsfond and HSFR
