Francesco Stella is Full Professor of Medieval Latin Literature at the University of Siena-Arezzo (since 2002) and Director of the Center for Comparative Studies “I Deug-Su” (since 2002). He has also served as Coordinator of the Master Programme on Digital Edition (2008–present) and previously as Head of the Department of Classics and Cultural Heritage (2004–2010).

Research Interests:
His scholarship lies at the intersection of Medieval Latin literature, Digital Philology, Translation Studies, and Comparative Literature. He investigates the transmission, interpretation, and digital representation of medieval texts, with particular attention to poetic production from Late Antiquity to the Carolingian and post-Carolingian eras.

- Methodological reflection on digital scholarly editing and text encoding
