Gerard Greene is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health. His research focuses on male and female pelvic health physiotherapy, particularly post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and the use of ultrasound imaging in pelvic floor dysfunction. He also explores postnatal rehabilitation and the role of social media in healthcare education and professional development.

Research Interests: Combining clinical expertise with imaging technologies, Dr. Greene investigates pelvic floor dysfunction management across genders. His work emphasizes translational research bridging clinical practice and advanced imaging techniques. He is also a pioneer in leveraging social media platforms like Facebook to foster global collaboration among physiotherapists.
Recent Research Trends: His publications from 2015–2025 highlight two core themes: (1) barriers to early diagnosis in axial spondyloarthritis within primary care, and (2) the transformative role of social media in physiotherapy education and clinical specialization. These studies underscore his dual focus on clinical practice improvement and digital health innovation.
Professional Engagement: Active in academic conferences since 2009, including the 26th Annual Conference of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy (2009). Maintains a parallel clinical role as a Male/Female Pelvic Health Physiotherapist at Harborne Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic.
