Dr Geraldine Lynch is a Pleural Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Bristol's Bristol Medical School: Translational Health Sciences and a member of the Pleural Team at Southmead Hospital. She is currently a Specialist Trainee in Respiratory Medicine pursuing a PhD in this field.
- Education: MBBS from St George’s, University of London; MPhys in Physics from the University of Oxford
Her research focuses on Mesothelioma, a fatal asbestos-related lung cancer. She investigates blood-based and histological markers to improve diagnostic accuracy and predict survival/disease progression rates. This work is partially funded by the Avon Mesothelioma Foundation.
As part of the Academic Respiratory Unit, Dr Lynch contributes to translational research bridging clinical practice and laboratory science, particularly in pleural diseases and respiratory medicine.
