Gerald Rosenfeld serves as Professor of Practice and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at New York University School of Law, where he also holds leadership positions as Co-Director of the Leadership Program on Law and Business and Faculty Director of the Institute for Executive Education.
His educational credentials include:
- PhD in Applied Mathematics from New York University (1973)
- MEng in Engineering Mechanics from City University of New York (1970)
- BCE in Civil Engineering from City College of New York, magna cum laude (1968)
With over 40 years of investment banking experience, Rosenfeld has worked at Salomon Brothers (1979-1988), Bankers Trust Company (1988-1992), Lazard Freres (1992-1998), and Rothschild (2000-2011), before returning to Lazard in 2011. His practice has focused on high-profile Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Restructuring transactions for major corporations including General Motors, Chrysler, United Airlines, and US Airways. He currently serves as adviser to the CEO and vice chairman of Investment Banking at Lazard Ltd.
Rosenfeld's research interests reflect his professional expertise in Bankruptcy and Reorganization, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring, and Professional Responsibility in transactional settings.
His notable recognition includes:
- Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2004)
