Gerald Moore is Professor in Durham University's School of Modern Languages and Cultures with a joint affiliation in the Department of Philosophy. His research explores intersections of technology, biology, and politics through continental philosophical frameworks. Primary research domains include: philosophy of addiction and its societal implications, technological impacts on evolutionary processes, and post-Marxist political theory.
His scholarly publications predominantly focus on digital capitalism's neurological effects, anthropogenic climate change, and reinterpretations of continental philosophers. Recent work examines addiction mechanisms in digital economies and ecological collapse neurobiology.
Professor Moore has received recognition as Chair of the Collège Scientifique at the Institut de Recherche et d'Innovation. He currently supervises five doctoral students researching topics spanning Stiegler, Simondon, Derrida, and technology's relationship with biological systems.
