Professor Georgios Leloudas is a Professor of Law at Swansea University's School of Law, part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. He joined the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL) in 2011 as a Lecturer, progressing through Senior Lecturer (2014), Associate Professor (2018), and Professor (2022). He holds LLM degrees in Commercial Law (University of Bristol) and Aerospace Law (McGill University), and a PhD in Air Law from Cambridge University. Prior to academia, he worked as a Solicitor at Gates and Partners in London, advising on aerospace liability and regulatory issues, and as an assistant to the legal counsel of the International Union of Aviation Insurers (IUAI).
His research focuses on air transport law, multimodal transport, insurance law, autonomous systems, and cyber risks. He has authored/co-authored books including Risk and Liability in Air Law (2009) and Air Cargo Insurance (2016), and co-edited The Montreal Convention: A Commentary (2023). He teaches modules on international transport law, maritime insurance, and legal aspects of AI.
He holds editorial roles for Shawcross and Beaumont on Air Law and contributes to professional training with IATA and ICAO. His supervision includes PhD topics on AI in law, insurance regimes, and autonomous shipping. He actively participates in international legal projects, such as analyzing cyber risks and liability in transport sectors.
