Georgina Thornley

Georgina Thornley is a Lecturer in the Accounting and Finance department at the Sheffield Business School, part of the University of Sheffield's College of Business, Technology and Engineering. She holds a BSc in Forensic Accounting and an MSc in Accounting and Finance, and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2023.

Her teaching focuses on modules such as Accounting in Context, Financial Trading, and Strategic Management Accounting. She champions inclusive pedagogy, researching ways to enhance student engagement in accounting education while advocating for gender diversity in finance through outreach programs.

Recent work includes investigations into AI's role in UK higher education and the relationship between course perception and student engagement. She collaborates closely with colleagues on initiatives targeting early career education in finance for underrepresented groups.
