Joanne Winfield

Joanne Winfield is an Associate Professor and Associate Head within the Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University. A Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), she joined the university in 2012 after a career in forensic accounting across accountancy practice, law practice, the public sector, and both large international organizations and SMEs.

Research Interests: Joanne specializes in forensic accounting and higher education pedagogy practices. Her recent publications focus on unifying global forensic accounting standards, anti-fraud education, and feedback mechanisms in academic governance.

Other Activities: She served as a board member for the North Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (NHS) from 2014 to 2016, external examiner from 2018 onward, and was a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (2005-2008).
