Dr. Georgina DeWeese is a Professor of Geography at the University of West Georgia, affiliated with the Dr. Perry College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Physical Geography from Louisiana State University, and a Ph.D. in Physical Geography from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Her research focuses on physical geography with specialization in biogeography, climatology, dendrochronology, and global environmental change. She teaches diverse courses including Weather and Climate, Landform Geography, Biogeography, Ecological Climatology, Global Environmental Change, and Dendrochronology.
Recent publications demonstrate her research focus on forest ecology dynamics, fire history impacts on vegetation, and dendroarchaeological applications. Her work spans temporal scales from contemporary climate studies to historical landscape reconstruction.
