Dr. Lisa M. Kennedy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), within the College of Natural Resources and Environment. Her research focuses on long-term environmental change, biogeography, and human-environment interactions across tropical America, the Caribbean, and the Appalachian region. She employs interdisciplinary methods including pollen analysis, charcoal records, dendrochronology, and remote sensing to study vegetation dynamics, fire history, and climate fluctuations.
