Georgia Sitara is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Victoria, affiliated with both the Gender Studies and History departments. Her teaching and research focus on critical intersections of race/racism, anti-racism, colonialism/decolonization, sexuality, children/youth studies, animal rights, and social justice. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2020 and 2019 THUGS Most Valuable Professor Award and the 2019 Gilian Sherwin Alumni Award for Teaching Excellence.

Her research interests blend historical inquiry with contemporary social justice, particularly examining how colonialism and capitalism shaped humanitarian movements like animal rights and child protection.
