Georges Mer

Georges Mer, Ph.D., is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic, with a joint appointment in the Department of Cancer Biology. He serves as Director of the Structural Biology Core Laboratory (2024–present). His research focuses on understanding how post-translational modifications (PTMs) regulate protein complexes involved in DNA damage response and repair, using structural biology techniques like NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, and cryo-electron microscopy.
