George Wu is the John P. and Lillian A. Gould Professor of Behavioral Science at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research focuses on decision-making under uncertainty, negotiation, and cognitive biases in strategic contexts. He previously held faculty positions at Harvard Business School and lectured at Wharton School. Wu earned his PhD in decision sciences from Harvard University in 1991, with earlier degrees from the same institution.
Research interests include behavioral economics, goal-setting dynamics, and the psychology of judgment. His work has been published in top journals like Cognitive Psychology and Quarterly Journal of Economics. Notable contributions address system neglect in decision environments and asymmetries in negotiation outcomes. Recently, he explored how learning impacts regime shift detection in dynamic systems.
