George Vlahakis is an Associate Professor of History of Science and Philosophy at the School of Humanities, Hellenic Open University. He serves as Director of the M.Sc. Program "Science Communication" and investigates the interplay between science and politics in Greece from the 18th century to post-WWII, with a focus on left-wing scientists and the military junta era. He leads the Commission for Science and Literature (DHST/IUHPST), is Secretary of the European Physical Society's History of Physics Group, and a correspondent member of the International Academy of the History of Sciences.
