George S. McClellan is a Professor of Higher Education at the University of Mississippi, serving as Faculty Director for the Online Master's in Higher Education program and Interim Faculty Director for the Ph.D. in Higher Education program. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona (2003) and degrees from Northwestern University. With 40 years in student affairs, his career includes senior roles at IPFW and Dickinson State University.
His research focuses on higher education administration, budgeting, esports program development, intercollegiate athletics governance, and shared governance policies. Notable works include Shared Governance, Law, and Policy (2021), Esports in Higher Education (2020), and Budgets and Financial Management (2018). He has authored/co-authored over 30 books, monographs, and articles addressing institutional challenges.
