George M. Pharr is a University Distinguished Professor and holder of the Erle Nye ’59 Chair in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. A member of the National Academy of Engineering, he is renowned for pioneering work in nanoindentation and small-scale mechanical testing.
