Prof George Letsas is the Professor of the Philosophy of Law at UCL Faculty of Laws since 2014. He serves as Chair of the UCL Research Ethics Committee for Humanities, Arts and Sciences (HAS), Co-Director of the UCL Institute for Human Rights, and affiliate member of UCL's Philosophy Department. He co-created The Jurisprudes podcast with Nicos Stavropoulos and co-convenes the Yale-UCL Workshop in Legal Philosophy.

His research focuses on evolutive interpretation of human rights, reason-based proportionality analysis, and critiques of margin of appreciation doctrine. He advocates for evaluative constitutional pluralism and has contributed to debates on legal positivism and moral reasoning in law. Current projects include a book on Status in Law and Morality (OUP, under contract).
He has held roles including Vice-Dean (International) at UCL (2015–2018), Senior Emile Noel Fellow at NYU (2011–2012), and acted in IB. v Greece before the European Court of Human Rights. His work appears in Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Law and Philosophy, and European Journal of International Law.
Collaborations: Co-edits Philosophical Foundations of Contract Law (OUP), writes for London Review of Books, and engages in public intellectual work via Aeon and THE.
