George F. DeMartino is Professor and Co-Director of the MA in Global Economic Affairs at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts and previously served as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies.
His research examines ethical dimensions of economic policy, professional economic ethics, and theories of distributive justice. Core investigations focus on econogenic harm, epistemic limitations in economic science, and normative foundations of global economic governance.
DeMartino's recent publications analyze counterfactual reasoning in economics, pedagogical approaches to economic harm, and ethical engagement in policy contexts. His award-winning book 'The Tragic Science' explores how economists cause unintended harm despite benevolent intentions.
