George Erving’s research centers on the British Romantic period, examining how works by authors like Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Blake intersect with modern inquiries into the nature of reality. His scholarship engages cognitive neuroscience, analytic idealism, Buddhist philosophy, and psychedelic studies—fields that collectively challenge materialist paradigms by foregrounding consciousness as the foundation of experience. This interdisciplinary approach extends to mimetic theory and European intellectual history, reflecting a broad interest in the philosophical and cultural undercurrents of literature.
