Tina A. Huynh is an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Puget Sound, specializing in music education with a focus on cultural diversity and culturally responsive teaching. She holds a DMA from the University of Southern California (2019) and teaches courses in elementary and secondary music education, including Practicum in Music Education, Intro to Secondary Music Education, and Popular Music Pedagogies.
Her research explores Vietnamese American refugee musical experiences and the inclusion of Vietnamese children’s music in American classrooms. She is a member of the Palmer Research Group, which develops frameworks for culturally relevant music education. Her notable works include the award-winning documentary *Songs of Little Saigon* (2021, 14 awards) and the children’s songbook *The Vietnamese Children’s Songbook* (2023).
Her scholarly publications examine music’s role in childhood development and cultural memory. She is certified in Kodály and Smithsonian Folkways World Music Pedagogy methods. Current courses include EDUCC 624-A and MUS 327-A/B for Fall 2025.
