George DeMaagd is the Associate Dean of Academic Administration and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Union University's College of Pharmacy. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Michigan (1987). His research focuses on clinical pharmacy practices, geriatric pharmacotherapy, and neurologic drug management. Notable areas include migraine treatment, delirium prevention in elderly patients, and pharmacist-led immunization programs.

Research interests span pharmacotherapy of neurologic disorders (Parkinson’s, epilepsy), drug-induced adverse effects in aging populations, and optimizing community pharmacist roles in chronic disease management. Awards include the Syntex Preceptor of the Year Award (1992) and recognition as a nominee for National MSM of the Year (undated). His professional service includes leadership in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and presentations at national conferences on topics like pharmacogenomics and geriatric assessment models.
DeMaagd oversees academic administration for the College of Pharmacy and directs the Union Book Project. His teaching emphasizes evidence-based practice and interprofessional education, contributing to curriculum development in drug therapy management and patient counseling.
