George Chen is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his MD at Stony Brook University (2021) and BS at Stanford University (2015), and is currently in a residency program at Yale New Haven Hospital. His research focuses on hepatology, gastrointestinal oncology, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular disease. Key interests include bacterial infections in cirrhosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and survival outcomes in gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Chen has been recognized with the 2023 Emerging Liver Scholar Award from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD). His work integrates clinical practice with translational research, addressing both basic science and public health challenges in digestive diseases. Notable collaborations include studies on biliary tract adenocarcinomas and the role of exercise in NAFLD progression.
Research highlights include systematic reviews on NAFLD treatment efficacy, population-based cancer survival analyses, and lipidomic profiling of metabolic risk.
