George A. Sprengelmeyer is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of the Music Program at Quinnipiac University. A guitarist, teacher, and scholar, he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.

His research spans Guitar Performance, Celtic Music, and Philosophy of Music, with a focus on Zen influences in avant-garde composition. In 2022, he co-presented on John Cage's Zen-inspired methods at the Pacific Association for the Continental Tradition conference.
