Dr. George A Yavorek is an Instructor of Clinical Surgery at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in colorectal surgery with a focus on minimally invasive and robotic techniques. He holds board certifications in Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery, and is a Fellow of both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. With over 25 years of clinical experience, he previously served as Site Director of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital’s St. Raphael Campus and currently leads as Medical Director at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. His research interests include colorectal malignancies, robotic surgery advancements, and early cancer detection through colonoscopy screening. Dr. Yavorek’s work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration in oncology treatment and patient care optimization. He received the Edward H. Storer, M.D. Award for Excellence in Surgical Teaching (2013).
