Georg Köhr

PD Dr. Georg Köhr serves as Head of the Research Group "Physiology of Neural Networks" at the Institute of Psychopharmacology within the Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI), Mannheim. His dual role bridges clinical psychiatry and fundamental neuroscience research, focusing on molecular mechanisms of neural signaling.

Dr. Köhr's research centers on neural receptor physiology, synaptic plasticity, and neural network dynamics. Key areas include NMDA/GABA receptor function, molecular pathways of synaptic depression, and prefrontal cortex regulation of reward behaviors.
