Georg Koszulinski is an Associate Professor in the Film and Mass Media Program at the University of Central Florida's Nicholson School of Communication and Media. He holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and an MA from the University of Florida. His work bridges film studies with environmental and social justice themes, focusing on climate change, Indigenous communities, and experimental storytelling.
- Previously held faculty positions at UNC Wilmington (2017–2022) and Seattle University (2013–2017)
- Serves on curatorial committees for Experiments in Cinema and the Florida Film Festival
- Recipient of over $10M in grants including NSF funding for climate-focused documentaries
Research interests include experimental documentary techniques, climate crisis representation, and collaborative science communication. His award-winning films have screened globally at festivals like Sundance, Berlinale, and Venice Biennale. Notable works include Red Earth (sci-fi feature), Chronotope Earth (Arctic climate film), and White Ravens (Indigenous resistance documentary).
Recent grants include a 2023 NSF award for Arctic research filmmaking and a 2024 Creative Capital nomination. His novel Future X (2025) explores ecological collapse through speculative fiction.
