Geoffrey Loomer is an Associate Professor at the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Law, currently on leave until June 30, 2025. He holds a BSc in Economics (UVic, 1994), LLB (UBC, 2000), BCL (Oxford, 2005), and a DPhil in International Taxation (Oxford, 2011, Clarendon Scholar). His research focuses on tax law and policy, including comparative/international taxation, corporate taxation, tax evasion/avoidance, and the intersection of tax systems with public goods, economic distribution, and social progress. He is a Research Fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation.

His work bridges technical tax analysis with broader public policy questions, emphasizing global tax rule design and equitable economic systems.
