معرفی
Geoff Ford is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina (2016) and a B.S. in Chemistry from Presbyterian College (2009). His research focuses on secondary metabolites in prokaryotic organisms and their biotechnological applications, with particular emphasis on bacterial metal metabolism and stress responses. Ford teaches courses in biochemistry and molecular biology laboratory techniques.
Education:
- Ph.D., Chemistry, University of South Carolina, 2016
- B.S., Chemistry, Presbyterian College, 2009
Research Interests: Dr. Ford investigates transition metal interactions in Escherichia coli, exploring how nickel exposure disrupts iron homeostasis and enterobactin production. His work highlights the cross-talk between metals in bacterial systems and potential applications in biotechnology.
Publications: His research has been published in MicrobiologyOpen, focusing on nickel toxicity mechanisms and iron metabolism disruptions. Articles emphasize bacterial stress responses and environmental metal interactions.
Teaching: Teaches BCHM 3050, BCHM 3040, BCHM 4310, BCHM 4330, and BCHM 4340 courses covering biochemistry fundamentals, molecular biology, and metabolic processes.
