Geoff Cox is a Professor of Art and Computational Culture at London South Bank University (LSBU), where he directs the Digital x Data Research Centre and co-directs the Centre for the Study of the Networked Image (CSNI). Previously, he held roles at the University of Plymouth, Aarhus University, and various institutions in curatorial and academic capacities. He holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth (2006), an MA in Photography (1986), and a BA in Art & Design (1983).

His research focuses on computational culture, contemporary art, and generative AI, exploring image politics, experimental publishing, and the intersection of technology and aesthetics. Major projects include ServPub (an experimental publishing infrastructure) and Ways of [Machine] Seeing (a public engagement initiative on AI and visual literacy). He has authored/co-authored books such as Speaking Code (MIT Press, 2013) and Live Coding (MIT Press, 2022), and co-edits open-access journals like APRJA.
Recent projects include collaborations with UCL, The Photographers' Gallery, and the Alan Turing Institute. He currently serves as an external examiner at multiple universities and advises initiatives like Computational Culture and AI in Society and Culture.
