Geneviève Helleringer

Geneviève Helleringer is an Associate Professor in French Law and Business Law at the University of Oxford's Faculty of Law, serving as Deputy Director of the Institute of European and Comparative Law and a Research Fellow at Lady Margaret Hall. She also holds positions at Essec Business School and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Her academic roles include editing roles for journals like the Oxford Business Law Blog and Journal of Financial Regulation.

Geneviève holds a JD from Columbia University (1999), an MSc in Legal Sociology (Paris II Panthéon Assas, 2009), and a doctorate in private law from Sorbonne University (2010), recognized with four national prizes. Her interdisciplinary education includes studies in philosophy, mathematics, literature, economics, and experimental psychology. She practiced corporate law at major firms before transitioning to academia.

Her research focuses on comparative contract law, corporate governance, financial regulation, and the intersection of law with behavioral sciences and psychology. She has authored influential works like Les Clauses du Contrat (2012), which won the French Academy Grand Prize. Key themes include fiduciary duties, regulatory arbitrage, and behavioral insights in financial policy.

Geneviève's awards include the 2021 Social Science Teaching Excellence Award and a 2023 French CY research award.
