Geir Godager is a Professor at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Department of Health Management and Health Economics. His research spans applied microeconometrics, behavioral economics, and healthcare policy, focusing on physician incentives, GP service markets, and payment systems in healthcare.

Research Interests include experimental economics, empirical game theory, quantal response equilibrium models, and the analysis of incentivized choice experiments. Recent Publications examine topics such as physician altruism, cost-sharing mechanisms, mystery shopper schemes in prescribing behavior, and the stability of patient-regarding preferences. His work often combines behavioral game theory with empirical analysis to address healthcare market dynamics.
Projects include IRECOHEX (Evaluation of Primary Health Care Teams), NORCHER (Norwegian Centre for Health Services Research), and PATHWAYS (care pathways for older people). He is also associated with the Health Economics Research Network (HERO).
