Geert Duijsters is a Full Professor of Entrepreneurship and currently serves as Dean of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management at Tilburg University. He holds affiliations with multiple institutions, including Eindhoven University of Technology (part-time from 2000–2009) and UNU-MERIT. His career spans roles such as Vice Dean for Research and Scientific Director of CentER and the Tilburg Centre for Entrepreneurship.
He holds a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University, with extensive research experience in innovation, strategic alliances, and corporate venturing. His work emphasizes corporate entrepreneurship, particularly in emerging markets like China and India, and leverages data science methodologies.
Research interests include strategic alliances, innovation strategies, and the impact of knowledge configurations on firm boundaries. He has supervised 15 PhD students, focusing on topics like alliance portfolios, SME development in Vietnam, and creative industries.
His recent work explores exploration-exploitation trade-offs in turbulent environments and gender dynamics in African entrepreneurship. He has contributed to over 130 publications, including articles in Academy of Management Journal and Technology Analysis & Strategic Management.
He leads the Brabant Center of Entrepreneurship, overseeing 16 courses, and has managed significant projects such as 'Learning and Complementary Specialization in Alliances' (2011–2014).
