Sjoerd Romme

Georges (Sjoerd) Romme is Full Professor and chair of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), affiliated with the School of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences and Department of Innovation Technology Entrepreneurship & Marketing. He obtained his MSc in Economics (cum laude) from Tilburg University and PhD from Maastricht University. Previously served as Dean of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (2007-2014) and currently serves as TU/e Ambassador for Entrepreneurship (2021-2025).

Romme's research focuses on reinventing management through organization design, technology entrepreneurship, and innovation ecosystems. His work emphasizes distributed intelligence in organizations, circular business models, deep-tech venture building, and design science approaches to management. Research spans organizational learning, new business development, and professionalism in management practice.

His publications demonstrate a consistent focus on design science methodologies applied to entrepreneurship and organizational theory, with recent work exploring experimental innovation frameworks and deep-tech commercialization.
