Professor Gearoid Millar is a Chair in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Aberdeen's School of Social Science. He holds a PhD in Social Science from Syracuse University and an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University. His research focuses on local experiences of international interventions in post-conflict states, emphasizing ethnographic approaches to evaluate peacebuilding, transitional justice, and development projects. He coordinates the MSc programs in Peace and Conflict Studies and Policy Evaluation, and supervises PhD students in post-conflict justice and ethnographic methodologies.

Research Interests: Ethnographic Peace Research, Global-Local Dynamics in Peacebuilding, Sierra Leone Case Studies, and Just Food Transitions.
