Professor Gavin Wood is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance within the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University. His research focuses on housing economics, urban policy, and socioeconomic inequality. He has contributed to over 150 publications since 1984, including peer-reviewed articles in journals like International Regional Science Review, Urban Studies, and Journal of Housing Economics. His work addresses housing affordability, aging populations, labor market dynamics, and policy interventions.
Key research interests include the intersection of housing tenure and wellbeing, intergenerational transfers, and the structural drivers of homelessness. He has collaborated on influential reports for the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI), examining topics such as housing equity withdrawal, spatial homelessness trends, and demographic shifts affecting housing assistance programs.
