Gaurab Basu, M.D., MPH, is an Assistant Professor across multiple Harvard-affiliated institutions, including the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Environmental Health), Harvard Medical School (Global Health and Social Medicine), and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Medicine). He directs the Climate Change and Health Societal Theme at Harvard Medical School. His work bridges climate change, health equity, human rights, medical education, and public policy. Dr. Basu has held roles as a Curtis Prout Academy Fellow at HMS and a Harvard Macy Scholar.

Research interests focus on climate change mitigation in healthcare systems, health equity, and curricular innovations. He advises state and municipal climate initiatives, including roles on the Massachusetts Governor’s Climate Science Advisory Panel and the Cambridge Mayor’s Climate Crisis Working Group.

Labs & Teams: Core faculty at Harvard Chan C-CHANGE (Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment), and collaborates with global NGOs including Partners in Health and Last Mile Health.
